Extended Care Program

Sacred Heart School offers an Extended Care Program. Students in grades 4-8 participating in this program will report to the designated room. Students in K-3 will be escorted to the designated room by 3:15 p.m. All students will be checked in, attendance taken, and supervised by the Extended Care Program staff.  Starting at 5:31 P.M. there will be a late charge of $1 per minute per child.

Schedule of Care (Morning):
6:30 A.M. Doors open at Designated room; Parent is to sign child(ren) in
7:40 A.M. Children are released to playground with SHS supervision

Schedule of Care (Afternoon):

3:00 P.M. School dismissed; “Regular” students grades 4-8 arrive to designated room
3:15 P.M. 1st – 3rd grade students meet at the flagpole. They will then be escorted by staff to designated room. Kindergarten will walk to designated room with teacher
3:30 – 4:15 P.M. Assistance with Homework; Silent Sustained Reading; Journal Writing
4:15 – 4:35 P.M. Snack & Break
4:35 – 5:15 P.M. Faith formation; Continuation of homework (if needed); Activities beyond homework
5:15 P.M. Clean-Up
5:30 P.M. All children should be picked-up by this time

 

All children enrolled in this program (no matter the age) will be released upon a parent (or parent designee) signing them out. The Parent Designee must be listed as an Emergency Contact on attached page(s).

Payment Schedule & Amounts:
“Regular” is defined as those families who know that they will need the extended care program throughout the school year based on job situation, availability of family picking up child(ren) by 3:15 p.m. and otherwise intend to use this program “Regularly”. (If you plan on using the program three times a week or more, this is the best deal).

“Occasional” is defined as possibly needing to use the program based on a variety of factors to include but not limited to: needing to run errands after school and cannot be there by 3:15 p.m., one child is involved in extra curricular activities and another child is at school due to inconvenience of picking up children at two different times, Parent(s) may work beyond school dismissal time one or more of the school days (i.e. early dismissal days), etc.

“Emergency” is defined as some unforeseen event whereby a parent or Emergency Contact person(s) cannot pick up your child(ren) within fifteen minutes of school dismissal. After 15 minutes any child who is not picked up will automatically be enrolled into the Extended Care Program. This is to ensure the safety and well-being of each child here at Sacred Heart School.

Regular:   $100.00 per month per child to be paid in advance
Morning Rate:   $5.00 per child for the hour
Occasional: Monday: $8.00 flat rate per child
  Tuesday thru Friday: $7.00 flat rate per child
  Noon Dismissal Days: $9.00 flat rate per child

Payment for the Occasional Use is due no later than the Friday BEFORE the child is to be in the extended care program. If care is not arranged in advance then the fees are subject to the “Emergency Rate”.

Emergency Care Rates:

         First 15 minutes      Free
  Second 15 minutes      $1.00 per child
  After first 30 minutes      $5.00 per child per hour

All payments are due on the date of service on or before. If you need to be billed, a minimum of $5.00 billing fee will be added to your total. If payment is not received withing 15 days a late fee of $10 will be added to the total.

Miscellaneous
The School will provide a light snack for your child(ren). Parents are encouraged to donate snack items and beverages in exchange for Parent Service Hours. A list of acceptable snacks and beverages may be found at the designated room during open hours.

Student Expectations:
Students are expected to follow school rules while enrolled in the Extended Care Program to include but not limited to: No CD Players. No Cell phones. No I-Pods or electronic devices. No loitering, and/or disruptive behavior. Students are expected to be in uniform at all times with the exception of free dress days.
